Plant Food Sticks
Push two sticks into the pot. Forget about feeding for the next 45 days.
What it is
Slow-release fertilizer sticks made from compost, bone meal and dried seaweed, pressed into 8-inch sticks at our Delhi workshop. No coloured chemical NPK. No urea. Each stick releases nutrients into the soil over roughly 45 days as it breaks down with watering.
One bundle contains 50 sticks, packed in a 1 kg packet. The Amazon retail combo (₹189) ships 25 sticks plus a small bottle of our Plant Booster Oil, the easiest way to try a unit. Sticks are also available separately on Meesho starting from ₹49 for 30 pieces, if you want to try just the sticks first.
How to use
- Wet the soil first. Water the pot a few hours before, so the soil is soft.
- Push 2 to 3 sticks in. For a 6-inch pot use 2 sticks; for an 8 to 10 inch pot use 3. Place them at the edge of the soil, halfway between the rim and the plant stem.
- Bury the top. Press until the stick is fully under the soil surface.
- Water normally. Each watering breaks down a tiny part of the stick. After 45 days, push in a fresh set.
Skip a feed during heavy monsoon weeks, too much moisture leaches nutrients out faster than the plant can absorb them.
What it's good for
- Money plant, pothos, philodendron, keeps leaves dark green, prevents the yellow-leaf droop in winter.
- Tulsi, mint, coriander, kitchen herbs respond especially well; you'll see new shoots within 10 days.
- Hibiscus, jasmine, gulmohar saplings, flowering improves visibly in the second cycle.
- Bonsai and small ornamentals, use just one half-stick; press in lightly.
What's inside
Composted cow dung (organic), processed bone meal (calcium + phosphorus), dried seaweed (potassium + micronutrients), neem cake (natural pest deterrent), and a small fraction of food-grade binder to hold the stick shape. No synthetic NPK, no urea, no industrial dyes, the green colour is from the seaweed.
Common questions
How is this different from a chemical fertilizer like NPK 19-19-19?
Chemical NPK gives plants a fast salt-based hit; sticks give a slow, low-dose feed over 45 days. Slow feeding builds stronger root systems and reduces the leaf-burn risk if you accidentally overdose. It's also safer for kitchen herbs and pets.
Will this work for outdoor gardens, not just pots?
Yes. For a flower bed, push one stick every 30 cm at the drip line. For a small kitchen garden bed (about 1 sq metre), 8 to 10 sticks every 45 days is enough.
Can I use this with my growth promoter and neem oil?
Yes, they're complementary. Sticks feed the soil, growth promoter feeds the leaves (foliar), and neem oil deals with pests. Use sticks every 45 days, growth promoter every 15 days, neem oil only when you spot pests.
What if I see white fungus on the stick?
That's normal, it's the breakdown process. The fungus is soil-friendly and disappears within a week.
